Our Story
I’ve always had a strong connection to animals. In many ways, I think they can teach us how to be better humans. We adopted Mooch at the very end of 2016; it had been a long, hard year and we decided to take a leap and adopt our first dog.
He was goofy and excitable when we first met him; and when I sat on the floor to get a better look at him, he instantly greeted me by sitting square on my lap. It seemed like he chose us as much as we chose him.
He was heartworm positive and slightly underweight; and the vets let us know he’d need some tough treatments and lots of TLC, but with patience and time, he could make a full recovery.
After several months of extensive treatment, which was covered by our generous rescue and wonderful local veterinarians, Mooch recovered.
He has gone on to be the absolute light of our lives, and we feel passionately about helping other dogs find their happily-ever-afters like Mooch.
